Quarterly engagement surveys

We want to ensure every voice is heard and that employees feel empowered to speak up. Our current employee engagement score is 86. Our goal is to increase this score to at least 88 by 2030. After we receive engagement survey results, we find ways to let our strengths shine and take action on opportunities.

Supplier diversity

Success comes from diverse perspectives, which is why we’re committed to a diverse supply chain. We work with Certified Diverse Suppliers across our operations, fostering inclusive procurement processes and strategic sourcing.

We are committed to spending $150M with certified diverse suppliers by 2025. Milestones include an aim to attain a 50% increase in spend with certified black- and woman-owned businesses.

Conversations

Inclusion starts from the top. In 2013, Republic Services established MOSAIC (Mission of Supporting an Inclusive Culture) and created a council comprised of leaders from across the company. The council develops new strategies and activities tied to the needs of our employees and customers. It supports strong recruiting partnerships, sponsors our business resource groups and facilitates company-wide trainings and discussions, like “Let’s Talk,” a series of panels created to foster authentic conversations among team members.

Republic Services has several employee-led groups that help create and maintain an inclusive and diverse workplace.
